Description: Skanda is one of the more interesting gods in the Hindu pantheon. Born, according to some texts, from the semen of Shiva without the participation of a female being, he was created to conquer the evil powers of the demon Taraka, who was attacking the gods, and became Mahasena, chief of the army of the gods.
His Vahana (mount), is the peacock Paravani, the killer of snakes.
