Description: Our knowledge of ancient Khmer culture rests in large part on the study of inscriptions, both Sanskrit and Khmer. These texts, whatever the period, essentially relate to matters of religion, and their importance in historical studies no longer needs emphasis. This stele is incised with a fourteen-line inscription in Khmer on three sides and can be dated from paleographic evidence to the Angkor period in 11th-12th century.
